FirstRate5® house energy rating software

FirstRate5® is an easy-to-use interactive tool with a graphic user interface that enables designers and thermal performance assessors to generate energy ratings for a home by tracing over floor plans. The software integrates the AccuRate calculation engine to estimate the annual heating and cooling energy and can be used to rate an existing design or as an interactive tool to optimise the design beyond compliance.

FR5 v5.4.0 (3.21) Beta contains the changes that align with the proposed updates to the NCC 2022 energy efficiency provisions and also two new software features.

  • Release of FR5 v5.3.2a and updated legacy versions to address critical security vulnerability

    Sustainability Victoria (SV) has released FirstRate5 v5.3.2a (3.21) and it can now be downloaded from the FirstRate5 website. This new version contains a fix to address a critical security vulnerability, and SV strongly recommends that all users upgrade as soon as possible.

  • Release of FR5 v5.3.2 & Holiday Support Schedule

  • Announcement of changes to FirstRate5 certificates, credits, and terms of service

    On 12 July 2021, Sustainability Victoria (SV) implemented several changes to the FirstRate5 (FR5) certificates, credits, and website’s terms of service. The changes are the following: 1) introduction of 12-month replaceable certificates; 2) introduction of a new $30 credit type and conversion of currently held credits to the new credit type, and; 3) changes to the FR5 website’s Terms of Service.​
